Fall goal-setting conferences will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Middle School (drop-in classroom visits) and Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. via ParentVUE and Google Meet. The window for scheduling conferences will open on Monday, Oct. 4 at 3:00 p.m. and close on Friday, Oct. 8 at 12:00 p.m.
Maple Grove Middle's fall conferences will focus on setting academic goals for the school year. Students are working on a digital worksheet in Advisory to prepare for the conference. You, your child, and your child’s teacher will participate in the conference. Please select one to three teachers that you would most like to speak with to allow for maximum participation. Conferences will be limited to five minutes. As always, you are encouraged to keep in touch with teachers throughout the year, particularly if you are unable to attend conferences.
If you plan to attend in-person conferences on Oct. 5, there is no action needed on your part. However, if you plan to attend the virtual conference night on October 12, please use these ParentVUE scheduling instructions to get started. Please note that you must use this link, not the ParentVUE app, to sign up for conferences.
For this conference, you will sign up for a 5-minute time slot with one to three of your child’s teachers. You may sign up to meet with Core or Exploratory teachers, as they will be available for scheduled conferences. Once you have signed up for a time slot, the Google Meet link will be available in the Conference tab of ParentVUE. Please log in at the exact start time of your conference. If you do not arrive on time, you may not be able to meet with your teacher.
In addition to classroom teachers, the Student Services team will be available during conference hours. If you would like, please contact them directly to schedule a time to conference.
- Nathaniel Davies, Student Management Specialist
The Maple Grove Middle School leadership team feels that student-led conferences are a very important way to engage students in understanding and taking ownership of their learning. It also believes that this in-person and virtual conference structure will help to build better communication and stronger relationships with all families.
As always, thank you for your support and partnership in your child’s education. See you at conferences!
